How to actually facilitate the five AURIS pillars for someone else: the real teaching points, exercises and anchors AURIS already uses in live delivery, adapted for one-to-one practitioner work.

About this course

A five-lesson practitioner course, one lesson per pillar, built directly on AURIS's own Facilitator Guides. Covers the real exercise and anchor for each stage, plus the facilitation skill underneath it: holding the room rather than fixing, asking questions that create space rather than supplying answers, and staying regulated yourself as a precondition for helping someone else.

What you will learn

  • Deliver AURIS's real Awareness exercise (Name It to Tame It) and understand why naming reduces its grip
  • Shift someone's account of their history from chronology to meaning
  • Apply body-before-mind sequencing, including your own regulation as a precondition
  • Help someone find "I am" language rather than supplying it yourself
  • Guide future-pacing toward stability plans that survive a bad week, not just a good one

Why this matters

Knowing the five pillars is not the same as being able to facilitate them for someone else. This course teaches the real exercises and anchors AURIS already uses in live delivery, and the facilitation skill underneath them. This course is built directly on AURIS's own Facilitator Guides (AURIS-PROG-FAC-073) and Facilitator Training and Onboarding standard (AURIS-PROG-TRN-017), the same teaching points, exercises and anchors already used in AURIS's live six-week programme delivery, adapted here for one-to-one practitioner work. This is AURIS's own real operational material, not external research: a different kind of authentic sourcing than AURIS's interview-based courses, but genuinely AURIS's own.

Course curriculum

5 lessons. The lesson content itself opens once you start the course.

  1. Lesson 1 · about 20 minutes

Facilitating Awareness — Name It to Tame It

This lesson is about creating the conditions for someone to notice what is knocking them off balance, rather than telling them.

    • Run AURIS's Name It to Tame It exercise with one person
    • Recognise the difference between holding the room and fixing
  2. Lesson 2 · about 20 minutes

Facilitating Understanding — The Story With Meaning

This lesson is about helping someone move from telling you what happened to telling you what it actually meant.

    • Shift a person's account from chronology to meaning
    • Ask questions that pull for what a role gave someone
  3. Lesson 3 · about 20 minutes

Facilitating Regulation — Body Before Mind

This lesson is about a principle AURIS holds firmly: body before mind, starting with your own.

    • Sequence regulation before deeper identity work
    • Use your own steadiness as a precondition for co-regulation
  4. Lesson 4 · about 20 minutes

Facilitating Identity — I Am, Not I Was

This lesson is about language, specifically the difference between I was and I am.

    • Help someone articulate a present tense identity statement
    • Resist supplying the sentence yourself
  5. Lesson 5 · about 20 minutes

Facilitating Stability — Routine, Standards, Connection

This lesson is about Stability, and what actually makes a plan last over time.

    • Future-pace a stability plan three months out
    • Find the smallest version of a plan that survives a bad week
