Veterans' Gateway has closed
If you need help right now, in the UK
Samaritans are available free on 116 123, 24 hours a day, for anyone in distress. If life is at immediate risk, call 999.
You can also call the veterans helpline free on 0808 802 1212, answered 24 hours a day.
Finding services now the Gateway has closed
The GOV.UK veterans support directory lists national and local services for veterans and their families, including mental health, housing, money and employment support. It is the verified directory we point to, and we keep it under review on our veterans support page.
If what you are facing is about who you are now
Many people who used the Gateway were not in crisis. They were trying to work out who they are now the uniform has gone. That is the question AURIS was built to answer, and it is what our research with service leavers and their families is about.
Our military transition support page gathers the research and the free learning in one place. From there you can start the free AURIS courses, including the Military Families Transition Programme for partners and families, or print free guides and checklists to work through on your own.
What AURIS is, and is not
AURIS is not a crisis service, therapy, or a replacement for the directory the Gateway provided. We do not hold a list of local services and we will not point you somewhere we cannot stand behind. If you need a service, use the GOV.UK directory or the helpline above.
If you are not sure where to start, or you cannot find what you used to find through the Gateway, contact us and we will reply within two working days.
