Identity After the Uniform
A long term qualitative study of how identity changes when a defining role ends, drawing on interviews across the military, emergency services and healthcare.

Methodology
Semi-structured qualitative interviews with service leavers, family members and the organisations that support them, coded thematically. The planned dataset is 108 interviews. Coding is ongoing and every finding is reported with the number of interviews it is drawn from.
Limitations
Findings are emerging, not proven. The dataset is not yet complete, participation is self-selected, and no claim from this project should be read as a population level statistic. No participant names, verbatim quotes or timestamps are published.
